Actress Amala Paul who hails from Kerala made a career in Kollywood after the critically acclaimed 'Mynaa' directed by Prabhu Solomon in which she played the title character opposite Vidharth. Following the success she paired with several Kollywood superstars including Vijay, Vikram, Suriya, Arya, Jayam Ravi and others.

On the personal front Amala was married to director A.L. Vijay from 2014 to 2017 and they divorced by mutual consent citing irreconcilable differences. In 2019 during the promotions of her film 'Aadai' she stated that she is in a relationship with someone and that she will reveal his identity later.

In March 2020 one Bhavninder Singh said to be a Mumbai based singer posted photos of himself and Amala having a Punjabi style wedding that went viral. In a few hours he deleted them. Later the talented actress lodged a complaint against Singh stating that he posted the photos without her consent and is blackmailing her. She also made it clear that the said pics were from a wedding theme photoshoot that they shot together.

Amala Paul had further alleged that she and Bhavninder Singh and his family who live in Auroville near Vizhupruam started a film production company together but they missappropriated her funds. In her police complaint the 30 year old actress had complained that the man had caused her mental and financial distress.

The police earlier today arrested Bhavninder Singh and has booked him under section 16 of IPC. He is being grilled as to the nature of his cheating and harassing of the actress.
