Actress Amala Paul has been in an experimental mode ever since she starred dressless in 'Aadai' directed by 'Master' fame Rathnakumar. Her work in the web series 'Kutty Story' in Tamil and 'Pitta Kathalu' in Telugu received critical acclaim and she is on a signing spree currently in multiple Indian language projects.
Amala in her most recent interview in Tollywood has stated that she is striving hard to separate her personal and professional lives currently. She has said I am what I am. I came into the industry when I was 17 and whatever I have gone through personally reflected in my work and vice versa. I cannot take one out of the other or maybe I didn't know the art of separating the two. I can say that about myself until 2019,.
It is well known that the 'Mynaa' actress was married to director A.L. Vijay from 2014 to 2017 and divorced. She has added However, 2020 has been an eye-opening year for me. It was a really introspective period for me when I was dealing through my father's death in a very mindful way. I came to the realisation that I was completely naked.
I felt like a blank page. I came to the realisation that I don't have anything that I can call my personal, that my private life is public, and that everything is out there. I felt as if my life had been misinterpreted far beyond my control.
Amala in the process of this new transformation also has changed her working style revealing that she used to over-prepare for her roles and it drained her out but now she approaches her characters differently and has thrown light on it
I just wanted to intuitively follow the artiste in me during last year's lockdown. I knew Durga in ' Kudi Yedamaithe' and there were many script reading sessions. I knew her job, her economical condition, and I knew I was going to meet her. I just wanted to organically meet the character without creating it in my head, and it turned out to be beautiful, finished the hardworking actress.
