Actress Amala Paul who made her mark playing a young rural girl who loves her childhood sweetheart to no end in ‘Mynaa’ made it big after that in Kollywood. She has since starred opposite most of the top heroes in Tamil including Vijay, Suriya, Vikram. Dhanush,Arya, Jayam Ravi and Vishnu Vishal in mostly super-hit films.
Of late Amala has gravitated towards female-centric films and has received critical acclaim for her performances in ‘Amma Kanakku’ and ‘Aadai’. Her recent Telugu project ‘Pitta Kathalu’ streaming on Netflix has her as a young novelist trapped in an abusive marriage with a much older man who hits back in her own creative way.
In a promotional interview for ‘Pitta Kathalu’ to Tollywood, media Amala has opened up about her divorce with director A.L. Vijay. She has reportedly stated ‘”Nobody supported me during my separation. They tried to scare me. Nobody cared about my happiness and mental health,” The talented actress had added that She added that she had to go through that difficult phase even though she is a successful actor.
