The remand period of actor Dileep who was arrested on July 10th, 2017 by Aluva police after having found irrefutable evidence against the actor for conspiring the abduction and assault of a popular Malayalam actress, has been extended till August 22nd. Due to security reasons, Dileep was produced before the court through video conferencing as the remand period ended today.

On July 14, Dileep was produced before the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court where his police custody was extended rejecting the bail plea. After which he was also sent to 14-day judicial custody.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Dileep is unwell in jail due to prolonged stress and affected life pattern as he has not been able to sleep properly since the arrest. Though the actor was given medical care he has not been moved to a hospital due to security concerns. A few from the film industry have also come in support of Dileep stating his health is a cause for concern.
