Actor-mimicry artist Abi passes away

Noted actor and mimicry artist Abi passed away on November 30th. The 54 year old actor was undergoing treatment for dengue fever at a private hospital in Kochi. The actor breathed his last after his blood platelet count came down drastically.

Abi who is a close friend of Kalabhavan and Dileep made his entry to movies as a mimicry artist. He has worked in several mimicry troupes such as Kalabhavan, Harisree and Cochin Sagar. Abi is well known for mimicking Amitabh Bachchan and Mammootty in the 90s. Abi has acted in over 50 films and has released more than 300 audio and video casettes of mimicry. 

Abi is survived by wife and three children. Abi’s son Shane Nigam is an emerging actor who made his breakthrough in films  - Kismat, C/O Saira Banu, etc.
