Popular actor Vinayakan is well known for playing villainous roles in Tamil in 'Thimiru', 'Siruthai', 'Mariyaan' etc. In his homestate Kerala he has won several awards for his acting besides proving his talent as a singer and music composer.

Vinayakan has stirred a controversy due to his latest speech at the promotions of the upcoming film 'Oruthee' directed by V.K. Prakash that marks the comeback of veteran actress Navya Nair.

Vinayakan, stated that he does not understand the "Me Too' movement and whether it is about asking a woman for sex. He further added that he has had a physical relationship with ten women. He added that his approach is to ask women directly whether they want to sleep with him and if they say yes it is ok and if they refuse he will just move away. He finished it of by saying that if asking a woman for sex is "Me Too" then he will continue to do so.

Vinayakan's remarks have been slammed by several celebrities from the Malayalam film industry including popular actor Harish Peradi. Navya Nair who was present at the event was also criticized for keeping quiet to which she defended herself that she couldnt do anything then but registered her protest later.

Vinayakan is playing a prominent role Vikram's upcoming movie 'Dhruva Natchathiram' directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and costarring Aishwarya Rajesh, Simran and Ritu Varma.
