Meanwhile one Thirunavukkarasu a theater owner hailing from Pattukottai has alleged that in 2016 Vimal was in the town shooting his movie 'Mannar Vagaiyara' which he was also producing. Vimal through his assistant Sarathi and production manager Sethu had allegedly approached Thirunavukkarasu and procured loans up to rupees 80 lakhs to complete the film in installments but has not returned the money.
Thirunavukkarasu has provided photographs of his diary in which he alleges are the signature of Vimal and Sarathi when receiving the loans from him. Vimal meanwhile through a strong letter has denied knowing the complainant and has also stated that he did not directly receive any money from him. He accused that people with vested interests are instigating Thirunavukkarasu to bring disrepute to his name. He has warned that he will file a defamation case.
It is worth mentioning that Vimal's wife Priyadarshini a doctor has applied for a ticket from the DMK to contest in the Manaparai constituency in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Thirunavukkarasu reacting to Vimal's counter-allegations against him has stated that he has enough proofs to face any inquiry regarding the issue.
