Yet another Kollywood veteran joins BJP

Veteran actor Vijayakumar officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in front of Minister and Kanyakumari MP Pon Radhakirishnan.

Vijayakumar is the latest addition to the list of Kollywood celebrities who have join BJP after its thumping victory in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections through which Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country.

Actor D.Napoleon a stalwart member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam switched loyalties to BJP in 2014 followed by the multi-talented Gangai Amaren, actress-choreographer Gayathri Raghuram and veteran actor-director Visu in the recent months.

Vijayakumar who entered film industry as an actor during the black and white era has acted in hundreds of Tamil films in supporting and negative roles. He has also acted as the hero in a few films of 1970s and 80s. Last year he contested for the Vice President post of the Nadigar Sangam on behalf of R.Sarathkumar's team but lost to Ponvannan.
