Actor Vijay Babu of Friday Film House, the producer of Jayasurya-Aditi Rao starrer upcoming movie 'Sufiyum Sujathayum', has taken a gutsy giant step by deciding to release the movie on an OTT platform skipping theatrical release. The OTT release date is yet to be announced.

"A thrilling musical affair of hearts await. In what would be a first for Malayalam Cinema, Sufiyum Sujathayum, will be releasing across the world on Amazon Prime. Catch the world premiere of #SufiyumSujatayumOnPrime, Coming soon," Vijay Babu wrote.

By this, 'Sufiyum Sujathayum' becomes the first Malayalam movie to have a direct release on OTT platform.

Making the huge announcement, Vijay Babu wrote in another post that the post-production work of the movie will soon begin following the lockdown protocols. “After the II World War, the cultural field – art, cinema and literature – experienced an amazing revival. In our present troubled times too, this is what we want. The country should stand united to regain what we have lost…. We also need to uplift our daily wagers who work in the field of cinema during this time,” Vijay Babu wrote on his social media handle.

‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas, the movie is a musical love story featuring Jayasurya and Aditi in the lead roles.
