Kannda superstar Upendra started a new party Karnataka Pragnayavanta Janata Party five months back and his people friendly politics has ticked him as a major contender for he upcoming State Elections which is just two months away.  In a shocking development for Upi fans a tiff betweeen him and senior party leader Mahesh Gowda has resulted in a near split of the party.  While Mahesh Gowda has alleged that Upendra is exhibiting a tyrant like attitude, the superstar is unhappy about his second in command repotedly taking money from candidates to give them seats.

Upendra apart from enjoying superstar status in Karnataka is also well respected in Telugu and Tamil cinema and has shared screenspace with Vishal in 'Sathyam'.  His fans are worried about the party heading for split and the incident also exposes the challenges that our own legends Rajini and Kamal could face in the future.
