Veteran director/comedy actor T.P. Gajendran passes away - Close friend M.K. Stalin pays last respects

The Tamil film fraternity is in shock after the continued passing away of important members namely director K. Vishwanath, actress Jamuna, actor E Ramadoss, Pariyerum Perumal fame Nellai Thangaraj and singer Vani Jayaram. . Now the news has come in that veteran director turned comedy actor T.P. Gajendran passed away after prolonged illness.
Gajendran who started his career as an assitant director to the late legendary writer-director-actor Visu made his debut in 'Veedu Manaivi Makkal' released in 1988. He went on to helm fifteen more films among which the most notable are 'Enga Ooru Kavalkaran', 'Pandi Naatu Thangam', 'Enga Ooru Mappillai', 'Budget Padmanaban', 'Bandha Paramisivam' and 'Nalla Kalam Porandachu'.
Apart from that Gajendran has starred as a comedy actor in several films. He was a college mate and close friend of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The busy chief minister visited Gajendran a few months back and spent quality time with him. Stalin rushed to the deceased celebrity's Saligramam residence and paid his last respects to him. He consoled the family members and expressed his grief stating he lost a very sweet friend.
