One of the top heroes of Kollywood and Nadigar Sangam Treasurer Karthi celebrates his 39th birthday today.Having delivered a three back to back super hits and with promising projects in the pipeline Karthi is expected to scale new heights in the coming years.

Born as the younger son of veteran actor Sivakumar, Karthi entered film industry when his elder brother had already registered himself as a well established top league hero. His first stint with cinema was as the assistant director of Mani Ratnam in 'the 2004 Tamil film Ayutha Ezhuthu' which had Suriya as one of the leads.

'Paruthi Veeran' directed by Ameer is the film which launched Karthi as an actor. With his debut outing becoming an all class blockbuster and critically acclaimed, Karthi turned out to be a household name of Tamil Nadu. Then he acted in Selvaraghavan's experimental 'Aayirathil Oruvan' which did not do well in the box office. However he turned out to be a bankable hero with by three back to back super hits 'Paiyaa', 'Naan Mahaan Alla' and 'Siruthai'.

Director Pa.Ranjith's 'Madras' released in 2014 was a turning point in Karthi's career after a rough patch caused by continuous box office failures. The performance of Karthi as a North Madras youngster in this critically acclaimed super hit redeemed his position in Kollywood. In 'Komban' directed by Muthiah, Karthi returned to the rustic rural man character after his debut film and tasted success again. In his latest release 'Thozha' Karthi's performance as the caretaker of a quadriplegic played by Nagarjuna was appreciated by everyone. This Tamil-Telugu bilingual flick has turned out to be a genuine super hit of the year and is still running in theaters.

Karthi is presently acting in 'Kaashmora' another experimental mega budget horror-fantasy flick directed by Gokul. Karthi reportedly plays triple roles in this film which is expected to hit the screens soon. Come June or July, the highly talented actor will also start shooting for a film to be directed by Mani Ratnam and that will be followed by 'Sadhuranga Vettai' fame director H.Vinoth's second film.

Within a few years Karthi has proved himself to be a actor capable of getting into the shoes of the character that makes him suitable for any role. Be it a rustic youngster of 'Paruthi Veeran' or a care-free youngster of 'Paiyya', bold police officer and a con man of 'Siruthai' and a bold and matured youngster who cares for the disadvantaged people in 'Madras', the performance of Karthi in all these roles have been impeccable. Karthi also has a phenomenal comic timing and he is one of those few heroes who has this innate quality of humor after Rajinikanth and Vijay.

We hope the actor capitalizes on these two laudable qualities and treats the audience with more and more quality films in the coming years. He is also earnestly engaged in the process of development of Nadigar Sangam and ensuring the wellbeing of its members along with his team of office-bearers and we hope he will bear success in this endeavor also.

IndiaGlitz wishes Karthi a Happy Birthday and long life with loads of successes and happiness.
