Popular actor Thennavan has been admitted to a private Chennai hospital in the intensive care unit after he suffered a brain stroke. His condition is said to be critical as doctors are treating him.
Thennavan was introduced by Tamil cinema by director Bharathiraja in 'Enn Uyir Thozhan' in which he played a womanizing villain and the song "Yeh Rajaathi" in the film tuned by Ilayaraja is still famous. The tall and well-built 52-year-old has acted as the villain and character roles in many films including Vikram's 'Gemini', Vishal's 'Sandakozhi', Kamal Haasan's 'Virumandi' and Rajinikanth's 'Petta'.
