Happy Birthday Suriya

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,July 23 2016]

Suriya is one of the top stars of Tamil cinema and he is one of those rare actors who could pull off commercial masala entertainers like 'Ayan', 'Adhavan', 'Vel' and 'Singam' as well as critically acclaimed close to real films such as 'Pithamagan' 'Aayutha Ezthuhu', 'Varanam Aayiram' and 'Pasanga 2'. He has also delivered hit films with the mix of both these characteristics like his recent one '24' which followed the new rarely explored genre of science fiction and time travel concept. A look into his career graph would show how flexible and versatile is Suriya as an actor.

Born as the son of veteran actor and yesteryear hero Sivakumar, Suriya's entry and initial years in Kollywood were not as easy as one would think to be. Though he got a dream debut with Mani Ratnam production 'Nerukku Ner' directed by Vasanth which also turned out to be a commercial hit, Suriya had to struggle a lot in his initial years. He was also criticised for his dance and facial expressions. Many of his films in these years passed without creating any impact.

But Suriya took these criticisms in his stride and honed these skills to register himself as a commercial hero. During the success celebration of another actor's film in 2004, Superstar Rajinikanth openly stated "Suriya was unable to even dance in his initial films but today he amazes me with his scale of performance and he has become a admirable hero." He is also close to the heart and a brother of another legendary star and Rajinikanth's close friend Kamal Haasan. With sheer hard work. sincerity and perseverance he has attained the place where he is today.

Suriya is the one who popularized the concept of actors sporting six pack. He has also done some really challenging roles such as the one with hunch bag in 'Perazhagan' and the conjoined twins in 'Maatran' and performed them with sheer aplomb.

Not only Rajini and Kamal but Suriya is respected as a great actor and good human being by everyone in Kollywood. With his modesty and down to earth attitude he has won the hearts of everyone in the industry he belongs to.

Suriya has huge female fan following. His love and loyalty for his lover turned wife Jyothika and his clean image has made him a favorite of women and family audience. Despite attempting different concepts in his films,Suriya always makes sure that his films are free of vulgarity and violence so that it is suitable for all age groups of fans. He has also turned producer and has been churning out quality films like '36 Vayathiniley', 'Pasanga 2' and '24'.

With a lot of philanthropic activities through the Agaram foundation he has been running for years now and also taking part in various initiatives undertaken by Government and private institutions for the welfare of the people, Suriya has proved to be an inspiration for youngsters and even other stars.

His upcoming film is 'S3' the third part of the blockbuster 'Singam' series directed by Hari. We hope this film creates huge box office records and enhances the star status of this committed actor.

IndiaGlitz wishes Suriya a Happy Birthday and lot more successes and awards in his acting career.
