Actor Sreenivasan, the man behind the all-time-favorite political satire Sandhesham` recently in an interview explained why there are no political satires these days. Sreenivasan has a special place in the hearts of Malayalees. He proved his essence as an actor, scriptwriter and director and not to mention his role as a producer. Occasionally he hits the headlines for his critical comments on political, social problems that are prevailing in the society. The actor is currently acting in a film titled Ayal Sasi` directed by Sajin Babu. It is a satire and the actor rates it as one of the best screenplays that he had seen recently.

In the interview he was asked why there are no satirical films these days. He replied that it is mainly due to the fact that youngsters don`t read newspapers these days and only focuses on their areas thinking that other things happening around are not relevant to them. Another reason according to the actor is the loss of hope and feels that even though whatever is done nothing will change. He also added that his son Vineeth Sreenivasan also belongs to the same generation of youngsters who doesn`t read newspapers and doesn`t know things that are happening around and so wouldn`t be in a position to write a satire.
