Actor Siddharth harrassed by political goons

Apart from instability in the medical system, the pandemic has also cause a certain degree of political unrest in the country. Actor Siddharth, who is known for his performance in the film 'Rang De Basanti' has revealed that he has been targeted by political goons for speaking up against the ruling party and their poor management during the pandemic. He didn't sugar coat his words while criticising the government which caused repercussions for him.
Siddharth tweeted, My phone number was leaked by members of TN BJP and @BJPtnITcell...Over 500 calls of abuse, rape and death threats to me & family for over 24 hrs. All numbers recorded (with BJP links and DPs) and handing over to Police. I will not shut up. Keep trying.
A large number of fans along with the actress Aditi Rao Hydari came in the support of the actor. He was praised for his outspoken nature and willingness to stand up to injustice. People also compared him to his character in 'Rang De Basanti' who also stood against a corrupt government.
