Chennai Vels University had its 7th annual convocation program held at its main campus at Pallavaram, yesterday, on the 2nd of March. The University conferred degrees to 1872 graduates. Govt. of India Dept. of Space Secretary, A S Kiran delivered the graduation speech and awarded the degrees.

Veteran Sathyaraj who started his career as a villain and emerged as a star hero and later evolved as a character artiste in Tamil films graced the function. Chancellor of the University, Dr. Ishari Ganesh revered the actor by awarding an Honoris Causa Degree (Honorary Doctorate).
