Following the grand success of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bigil', AGS Productions is producing their next venture with famous comedy actor Sathish in the lead role. This film will mark the debut of Sathish as a hero. Directed by debutant Kishore Rajkumar, 'Cooku With Comali' fame Pavithra Lakshmi is pairing opposite Sathish.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan and Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin released the title and first look of this project, recently. The movie is named 'Naai Sekar', the title which was fueling controversies in recent times. The poster featured actor Sathish trapped in a dog collar that is held by a dog.
Meanwhile, it is well known by now that TFPC recently lifted the red card on veteran comedy star Vadivelu. The actor is all set to star in films after nearly a decade. Vaigai Puyal was supposed to play the lead in Suraaj's direction which was long due. They were thinking of the title 'Naai Sekar' for their flick, as it was the name of a famous character played by Vadivelu in Suraaj's 2006 movie 'Thalai Nagaram'.
Director Suraaj revealed in a recent interview that they needed that title as the story revolves around the bond shared between a man and a dog. Controversies have been going on for a while now as actor Sathish used the same name for his upcoming film. Now, Vadivelu is pushed to choose a new title for his re-entry movie.
Amid the controversies, Sathish has explained the situation to the media. He revealed that his project with AGS Productions also focuses on the bond between a man and a dog. He says that the dog is also playing the lead role alongside him in the film. The actor stated that they would have given up the title to Vadivelu if they knew that he was looking for the title.
Sathish also added that they can't just give away the name after the entire shoot of the movie is over and the film will surely justify the title. He concluded by saying that the term 'Naai Sekar' always reminds the legend Vadivelu obviously but the team had no other way as they registered the title and worked hard on the film.
