RIP! Thor and RRR fame international actor Ray Stevenson passes away at 58

Popular international actor Ray Stevenson passed away suddenly in Italy on Sunday pushing his colleagues and fans in grief. He was 58 and is survived by his ex-wife actress Ruth Gemmell. The cause of the untimely death has not been made official yet.

Born in Northern Ireland on May 25, 1964, Stevenson began his career appearing on TV shows in the 1990s then began landing action roles in Hollywood films. His film credits include 'King Arthur', 'Punisher: War Zone', 'The Three Musketeers' and the first three 'Thor' movies in which he played the hero's ally Volstagg.

Ray Stevenson attained wide fame across India playing the arch villain Governor Scott Buckson in S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' starring Ram Charan and Junior NTR. Rajamouli paid rich tribute on Twitter writing "Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace.”.

Stevenson's upcoming projects to be released posthumously include 'Ahsoka', '1242: Gateway to the West' and 'Cassino in Ischia'. RIP!

Directed by SS Rajamelali and starring Jr. NTR and Ramcharan Teja, 'RRR' was released in five languages including Tamil and grossed more than Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
