Veteran actor Radharavi who has been a long time member of the ruling AIADMK party has today joined the DMK in front of its Working President M.K.Satlin .

Radharavi's father and actor M.R.Radha was a proponent of the ideologies of rationalist leader EVR Periyar and his Dravidar Kazhagam. Radharavi first joined DMK which is considered to be an offspring of DK. Later he joined ADMK and considered to be a staunch loyalist of former Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha who lead the party with iron grip until her death on December 5, 2016. During Jaya's rule between 2001-2006, he served as the MLA of Saidapet constituency in Chennai. From 2006 to 2010 he maintained a distance from the party. However he gained joined ADMK in 2010

Post Jaya's demise a lot of changes have happened within the party. Last month, while speaking at the wedding ceremony of actor and DMK MLA Vaagai Chandrasekar, Radharavi went on record stating that Stalin is the most suitable candidate to rule Tamil Nadu.

This lead to speculations that the senior actor has joined the DMK party. However the actor maintained that he has not joined any party and he will take a decision after consulting his family members and well-wishers .

Today Radharavi has officially joined the DMK which is the prime opposition party in Tamil Nadu Assembly.
