Actor Madhavan turns 47 today. Touch wood! Only the years pass by but the youthful charm of the actor never fades away.
Madhavan got a dream debut which is a rarest of rare case in Tamil cinema. He got introduced to the tinsel world by none other than Mani Ratnam, one of the most revered directors of Indian cinema. The film turned out to be a blockbuster hit and Maddy become the hearthrob of young women, and he still is admired by womenfolk. The success of 'Minnale' achieved the star status for Madhavan and 'Run' established him as an action hero.
But Maddy does not settle in the safe zone. While he was one of the leading heroes, he played the second hero in Kamal Haasan's critically acclaimed 'Anbe Sivam'. He again teamed up with his mentor Mani Ratnam to play a negative character opposite his peer hero Suriya in 'Aayutha Ezhuthu'.
This has been the regular phenomenon in Madhavan's career as an actor. He is more keen to be an actor rather than a hero. He accepted whatever character that impresses him. He played second fiddle to Aamir Khan in 'Rang De Basanti' and '3 Idiots'. He played a supporting character in Mani Ratnam's 'Guru'. But he also established himself as a lead actor in Bollywood with the blockbuster 'Thanu Weds Manu' and its sequel. Apart from that he has just signed only one Hindi film 'Chanda Maama Door Ke'.
Madhavan made a comeback to Tamil films after a gap of five years with the critically acclaimed super hit 'Irudhi Suttru'. The gap was not because he did not get any offers but because he wanted to get trained to play the character of a rugged boxing coach and also change his physique to suit the character.
Even after the stupendous success of 'Irudhi Suttru' and its Hindi version 'Saala Khadoos', Maddy showed no hurry in signing up films. He waited for the best of the roles. He is currently acting as one of the leads, a police encounter specialist in 'Vikram Vedha' along with Vijay Sethupathi. For this film the actor known for his commitment looks much slimmer and younger.
We can be assured that Madhavan will be doing more and more good films and interesting characters in the coming years. IndiaGlitz wishes him the best for more successes and awards in his acting career and also a happy and healthy personal life.
