Actor Krishnudu, who headlined movies such as 'Vinayakudu' and 'Village Lo Vinayakudu' in the 2000s, was on Friday night arrested by the Hyderabad police. He was allegedly participating in poker and gambling in the presence of several others at a village named Shilpapark Villa at Miyapur.
"The police learned about the gambling from an informer. They raided the villa and caught the individuals red-handed," a national media report quoted other reports as saying. During the raid, about two lakh rupees were seized. Some gadgets, especially smartphones, were also seized.
It is reported that a case was registered by the police. Krishnudu was let off after he received bail.
Krishnudu was in the news in 2019 when a woman made seemingly baseless allegations that he had sexually harassed her. Her allegations haven't been proven to date. The 'Happy Days' actor stoutly denied the allegations. Saying that he once received a call from a woman and that he snapped the call because her language was suspicious, Krishnudu added that he will be putting his case across to the police if needed. "I never even met the said woman. A rumour is going around that I had introduced her to anchor Pradeep Machiraju, whom I have never even met or spoken with till recently. Till recently, I didn't even know his phone number," Krishnudu said.
