Popular folk singer Karunas debuted as actor in Bala'a 'Nanda' and went on to become a leading comedian in Tamil cinema. He has acted with most of the top heroes such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vikram and Dhanush. He has also played the lead roles in a few films ncluding 'Dindigul Sarathi', 'Ambasamudram Ambani' and more recently 'Aadhaar'. His performance in the recent super hit 'Ghatta Kusthi' also was well received.

Karunas who is a politician and a former MLA is married to singer cum television anchor Grace Karunas. Their son Ken Karunas also is an actor who impressed on debut in Vetrimaaran's 'Asuran' in which he played the younger son of Dhanush and Manju Warrier.

Grace and Karunas's elder daughter Diana is a doctor by profession and she recently got married in a private ceremony in Bengaluru with close family and friends in attendance. Ken Karunas shared a wedding pic and wrote on Insta "Happy married life Akka and Mama Stay Happy and blessed."

Fans used to seeing Karunas in traditional dhotis and shirt have been taken in by surprise with his suited up look. Celebrities and fans have extended their best wishes to the young couple.
