Yesterday, Podhu Nalan Karuthi, directed by debutant Zion and starring Santhosh Prathap, Adith and Karunakaran had released, and has been receiving decent reviews. Now the movie has hit news for wrong reasons, as the movie's makers have accused Karunakaran of sending them death threats and abusing them.

After filing a complaint against Karunakaran at Chennai police commissioner office, the director Zion opened up to the media that even after settling 25 lakhs to Karunakaran, he had not attended the audio launch event and when asked to come for the promotions, the actor had abused over phone, and had threatened to attack  the producer.

Adding that he had spoken abusive language just because he has background, Zion said that the actor had not co-operated properly as he had got committed to Vivegam, and ignored his movie as its a small movie, and demanded that the producers council must take immediate measures to issue a red card to Karunakaran, and not sign him for any new movies.
