Actor Karthi had a busy year with Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, PS Mithran's Sardar and Muthaiah's Viruman. The stylish hero wrapped filming for Ponniyin Selvan and started shooting for Viruman in October. The rural flick is being shot in and around Madurai and Theni districts.

Viruman also marks the debut of ace director Shankar's daughter Aditi as the female lead. Now, we hear that the film produced by Suriya-Jyothika's 2D Entertainment will wrap up its shoot by December 20. Karthi, who had completed major portions for Sardar, will resume the shoot for the spy thriller.

A source close to the Viruman team says, “The team wrapped up the shoot in record time. They shot continuously and will be wrapping up the film soon. Post this, Karthi will resume shooting for PS Mithran’s spy-thriller Sardar, which has Karthi and Raashi Khanna in the lead." For this movie, Karthi sports a village look with long hair and a moustache.

The actor will change his look completely for Sardar again as he joins the cast right after Viruman wrap up. The source further adds, "They had erected a special prison set for the film. The team will be shooting there by the end of this month. After completing a schedule in Chennai, they will head to Mysore to shoot an important sequence."
