Karthi is one of the most-wanted heroes in the Tamil film industry now. After delivering a hit venture 'Viruman', the actor has two promising films lined up for release in his pipeline - Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' and PS Mithran's 'Sardar'.

Now, the latest is that Karthi has turned into a playback singer. He is a multi-talented personality who started his career as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam. Karthi has crooned his first song in the upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film 'Kanam' aka 'Oka Jeevitham' starring Sharwanand, Ritu Varma, Amala Akkineni, Nasser, MS Bhaskar and Vaiyapuri.

'Kanam' marks the return of veteran actress Amala Akkineni to Tamil Cinema after 30 years. Karthi has sung the song 'Maari Pocho' which is composed by Jakes Bejoy with the lyrics penned by Madhan Karky. The movie is a science-fiction drama based on a mother-son relationship and is directed by Shree Karthick.
