Dr. P. Rema, wife of noted Malayalam actor Jagadish, passed away on Friday. She was 61. Rema was the former head of the forensic department of the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Her expertise in forensics had proven pivotal in solving many sensational cases in Kerala. Rema, had taken voluntary retirement after being diagnosed with a rare neurological ailment. She had been unwell for some time and was bedridden for the last one year. On Friday morning, she breathed her last at their residence in Trivandrum.

Actor Jagadish is known for his unparalleled flair for comedy and is known for his notable roles in movies such as ‘Mutharamkunnu P.O, ‘Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, ‘In Harihar Nagar’, ‘Godfather’, 'Junior Mandrake' and several other movies. The actors also played some serious roles in some of the recent Malayalam films. He also hosts several TV shows. The couple - Jagadish and Rema - has two daughters – Dr Ramya (professor at Nagercoil Medical College) and Dr Soumya (psychiatrist).
