The Accidental Prime Minister' (Hindi), starring Anupam Kher as Dr. Manmohan Singh, hit the screens on Friday. The film has invited the ire of sections of Congress party workers in some States, especially West Bengal. Since it shows Sonia Gandhi in a "negative" light, some theatres screening it have been attacked.
In this regard, Kher has made an earnest appeal. "An appeal to the authorities to stop a section of people who are indulging in acts of violence and hooliganism during the screening of our film #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. Also a call out to other section of people who believe in selective outrage towards Freedom Of Expression," the Bollywood actor tweeted out.
The political drama grossed Rs 4.50 Cr on the release day.
