After the blockbuster success of the multistarrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, director Maniratnam is all set to start his next soon, and this movie will be the film version of Kalki's epic novel Ponniyin Selvan. As per reports this movie will be produced by Reliance Entertainment.

With speculations that this movie will have a massive starcast including Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Keerthy Suresh, Amala Paul, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and many others, here's an interesting update on a new entrant to the team. Actor Elango Kumaravel has been announced to penning the screenplay of the biggie.

Known for his performances in movies like Abhiyum Naanum, Kurangu Bommai and recently in Kaatrin Mozhi, the actor had been a part of the Ponniyin selvan play in the 90s and has now been roped into pen the screenplay along with Maniratnam. An official announcement on the cast and crew of this magnum opus will be out soon.
