Veteran actor-director Rajasekhar passed away suddenly on Sunday leaving a huge void in the industry. He debuted as one of the leads in Bharathiraja's 'Nizhalgal' and immense fame appearing in Ilayaraja's best composition "Ponmalai Pozhuthu". Forming a collaboration with cinematographer Robert and known as Robert-Rajasekhar the duo made several memorable movies including 'Oru Thalai Ragam', 'Palaivana Solai', 'Manasukkul Mathaappu', 'Chinnapoovae Melllapesu', 'Paravaigal Palavidham' and others.

It has been reported that Rajasekhar's wife Sara has revealed that her husband has breathing difficulties for a couple of days earlier and was admitted to the hospital but they did not have money to give the proper treatment. It has also been said that Vikram Aditya a director of one of the serials that Rajasekhar was acting in helped with some money but it was not enough. It is truly unfortunate and tragic that such an accomplished artiste of Tamil cinema had to lose his life due to lack of economic stability.
