Veteran actor-director Manoj Kumar and his wife injured in car accident

One of the popular serials on Sun TV is 'Vaanathai Pola' starring Sreekumar, Aswanth Tilak, Manya Anand, Debjani Modak, Rajapandi Duraisamy, Dharish Jayaseelan, Mahanadhi Shankar and others. Veteran actor/director Manoj Kumar is playing an important character of Muthaiya in the serial.
Manoj Kumar (66) reportedly went to Theni from Chennai in a car with his wife Selvi and assistant Raghupathi. The car suddenly lost control and overturned after crashing into a roadside ditch near Vikravandi. All the passengers in the vehicle have said to be injured and have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are being treated by doctors.
Manoj Kumar a close relative of Bharathiraja has directed several films in the eighties including Sivaji Ganesan's 'Manukkul Vairam', Ramki's 'Maruthupandi', Prabhu's 'Maravan' and 'Pandidurai', Sathyaraj's 'Vandicholai Chinnarasu' and Prashanth's 'Senthimzh Selvan' among other films.
He later switched to acting in films and serials after debuting in 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' and was recently seen in Rajinikanth's 'Annaathe'.
