Vikram, the name synonymous with hard work, dedication, commitment and perseverance when it comes to acting in Tamil cinema has completed 25 years in the film industry as an actor. Vikram's debut film En Kadhal Kanmani' directed by T.J.Joy released on October 17, 1990.

Vikram is one of the few actors of the current generation who endured enormous struggles to make it big as an actor and a star. He had to face so many failures, rejections, and hiccups in his career to become what he is today. His second film Thandhuvitten Ennai' was directed by acclaimed director Sridhar but that film also turned out to be a box office squib. Then Vikram kept acting in small budget films throughout 1990s as the hero and second hero. He was shuttling between Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industries as an actor. He worked as a voice artist in many films and has dubbed for Ajith (Amaravathii), Vineeth (Pudhiya Mugam), Prabhu Deva (Kadhalan), Abbas (VIP, Kandukondein Kandukondein).

He acted as second hero with Ajith in Ullasam' and played an important role in R.Parthiepan's critically acclaimed film Houseful'. These films despite their box office status turned the spotlight on Vikram's caliber as an actor. Then Vikram proved his real mettle playing the lead role in Sethu' directed by debutante Bala who is one of the highly respected directors of Tamil cinema today. Vikram reduced around 15 kilograms of body weight for his role in that film and it was a never before phenomenon in Tamil cinema in those days. The film released after a lot of struggles and became a super hit thereby giving the much needed break for Vikram as an actor.

In the years that followed Vikram continued acting in commercial action flicks like Dhil', Gemini', Dhool' and Saami' The stupendous success of these films established Vikram as a star. In the meantime Vikram's performance oriented role in Kasi' won enormous critical acclaim. Vikram again teamed up with Bala and acted as an uncivilized crematorium worker in Pithamagan' for which he won his first National Award.

Vikram's teaming up with director Shankar for Anniyan' was another turning point in his career. Shankar utilized the acting prowess of Vikram by making him portray three distinct characters. Vikram received enormous praise for his acting in this film and its blockbuster success placed him in the league of top five stars in Tamil cinema.

After this, there have been successes, failures, and inadvertent long breaks in the acting career of Vikram. His much anticipated teaming with Mani Ratnam in Ravanan' and his Bollywood entry through its Hindi version did not bring any fortunes to his career. But the stellar performer in Vikram bounced back with Deiva Thirumagal' in which he played the role of a man with the IQ level of a five years old. This was again followed by a couple of box office failure films but all those bitter memories were erased with Vikram's teaming up with Shankar again for the film I'. The highly dedicated actor deployed daredevil hard work for the film. He reduced enormous body weight by following unimaginable diet plans. The efforts paid off well with I' becoming the blockbuster of 2015 and also one of towering performances of Vikram the actor.

Vikram's next film '10 Endrathukulla' will be hitting the screens on October 21 which is just a few days away from now. In the film directed by Vijay Milton, Vikram is back to the energetic action hero character and he looks ravishingly young in the posters and trailers of the film.

Indiaglitz congratulates Vikram on his completion of 25 years as an actor and for being an inspiration on hard work and perseverance for the youngsters who wish to achieve big in life.
