Veteran actor Bala Singh passed away early this morning at 1 am at the Vijaya Hospital in Vadapalani in Chennai were he was admitted for the past few days after suffering from high fever and respiratory issues. His mortal remains is kept at his home near the Virugambakkam police station and the last rites will be done today.

Bala Singh started his career as a theatre artist and was brought to the vibe field by his childhood friend actor Nasser in his directorial debut 'Avatharam' and has since acted mostly as the villain and other characters in hundreds of films with top heroes. This year his performances in meaty roles in Selvaraghavan's 'NGK' starring Suriya and Shanthakumar's 'Magamuni' were well appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
