Kollywood's most celebrated actor Arjun Sarja is all set to team up with director Kannan Thamarakkulam for an upcoming Malayalam film titled ‘Virunnu’. Scripted by Dinesh Pallath, 'Virunnu’ will feature him playing a mysterious lead character. More details regarding his character are kept under the wraps.

In Malayalam, Arjun was last seen in Malayalam in ‘Jack Daniel’, in which he shared screen space with Dileep. He also played a pivotal role in the upcoming biggie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’, which won National Award this year.

Apart from Arjun, the movie will also star Mukesh, Baiju Santhosh, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Hareesh Peradi, and Asha Sarath among others. The makers haven’t announced the heroine yet. Music is by Ratheesh Vega and cinematography by Ravichandran. VT Sreejith is the editor. Adv. Gireesh Neyyar will produce the movie under the banner of Neyyar Films. If the reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to start the shoot from May 3.

Meanwhile, Kannan Thamarakulam's last directorial ‘Maradu 357’ based on the Maradu flats demolition in Kochi, is expected to have an OTT release soon. The film was completed almost a year back but the release got delayed due to the pandemic.
