Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the actor and son of former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, has on Friday tied the knot with Revathi, grand-niece of former Minister and Congress leader M Krishnappa. The wedding took place in Ramnagar, Karnataka.

A video clip shot by a guest at the wedding is doing the rounds on the Internet. Although it was attended only by close friends and family, it was in violation of lockdown norms, reports say.

The government has sought a report from the police department on the wedding. "I have sought a report from Ramnagar Deputy Commissioner. I will speak to the Superintendent of Police, we need to take action otherwise it will be a complete mockery of the system," CN Ashwathnarayan, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister has told ANI.

The wedding happened at a farmhouse in Bidadi town. Kumaraswamy had planned to hold it in a grand manner in Bengaluru. He hoped that the lockdown would be lifted after April 15. Since that didn't happen and Bengaluru is a Red Zone area, the venue was shifted to the farmhouse in Bidadi.

JDU activists, supporters and leaders were requested not to attend the wedding to respect the lockdown.
