It's known that, recently, the Active Producers Guild of Tollywood announced the cancellation of film shootings from August 1 on an indefinite basis until outstanding issues (read cost-cutting, OTT-theatrical window, VPF charges, and cinema ticket prices) are resolved. In order to deliberate upon the key issues, various committees have been formed by the Guild producers among themselves.

A Committee to discuss Exhibition and theatre-related aspects has been formed with Dil Raju as the convenor. Sudhakar Reddy, Vamsi of UV Creations, Veer Naidu, Bunny Vasu, Saibabu Annapurna, Ram Mohan and NV Prasad are also its members.

A Committee to discuss OTT-related issues has been formed with Bapineedu as the convenor. Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, Vamsi, P Kiran, Sharat Marrar and AM Ratnam are its members.

A Committee to deliberate on the control of production costs has been formed with Vivek Kuchibotla as the convenor, and S Naga Vamsi, Ravi Kishore, Sivalanka Krishna Prasad, Madhu, Kishore, Radha Mohan, Gopi Achanta, Bekkam Venugopal, Chitturi Srinivas, Sudhakar Cherukuri, Damodar Prasad, Sahu Garipati and Anurag Parvathaneni as members.

Why the Guild?

The Guild is said to be attempting to decide on issues without taking the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and the Producers Council into confidence. In any case, Guild comprises the most happening producers.
