Last year, actor Vishal, Tamannaah and Aishwarya Lekshmi starred in the action packed entertainer Action which was directed by Sundar C and produced by Trident Arts, and the movie met with lukewarm response at the box office, ending in losses.
Following this loss, actor Vishal had reportedly assured the makers of compensating for the loss by doing another film for them directed by MS Anandan. However Trident Arts later filed a petition in the Chennai High Court stating that director MS Anandan had made the movie Chakra with the same story narrated to Trident Arts and they were also planning to release the movie on OTT.
The judge had adjourned the case to October 9, and had ordered Vishal to file a report on the nature of the guarantee for Action loss. In the hearing which took place yesterday, the judge has ordered Vishal to make a guarantee of Rs 8.29 crore to compensate the losses incurred in Action.
