Acting trainer arrested for sexual harassment

In a bizarre incident, one Vinay Varma, an acting trainer at the Sutradhar theatre group, recently asked his female students to remove their upper garments as part of a workshop. When the girls protested, he allegedly banished them from the class.
A girl student went to the Narayanaguda police and lodged a complaint against Vinay Varma. She said that the acting coach sexually harassed her by asking her to undress herself.
Prima facie, there is a case of sexual abuse by the coach. The police have slapped cases against the accused under Sections 354A, 506, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
