Konidela Produciton Company and Matinee Entertainments on Tuesday announced the postponement of 'Acharya'. The mega film will not hit the screens on May 13.
"In view of the pandemic becoming fierce, we have taken the decision to defer our movie's release," producers Ram Charan and Niranjan Reddy said.
The film, directed by Koratala Siva, will lock its release date after duly considering the prevailing situation once the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic recedes.
There is a view that the film will be released in theatres only in August. The makers of the Chiranjeevi-Charan starrer seem to be hoping that, by then, a reasonable chunk of the adult population will receive vaccination.
Also starring Kajal Aggarwal, Pooja Hegde and Sonu Sood, the film's first song was released recently.
