'Acharya' locks an unlikely release date

'Acharya' has locked an unlikely release date. While the film was expected to hit the screens in December this year or Summer next year, the Chiranjeevi-starrer has chosen neither date.

The Koratala Siva directorial will hit the screens on February 4, 2022.

Making the announcement, Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments shared a poster in which Chiranjeevi and his son, Ram Charan, are seen wearing Maoist attire. They both have full-fledged roles in this socio-political actioner.

With the movie choosing February, it's well-spaced-out. There won't be any big releases after Sankranthi. 'Acharya' will be the first major release post-Sankranthi. By picking the date, the makers have also staved off any speculations and doubts about its postponement due to a possible clash with this or that release. This is the first time that a Chiru film will be released in February in many years.

With music by Mani Sharma, 'Acharya' has cinematography by Tirru.
