Well-known Mollywood director Basil Joseph on Wednesday revealed that he has become a father. His wife Elizabeth, with whom he has been married since 2017, gave birth to a healthy baby.

The filmmaker, known for the breakout Indian superhero movie 'Minnal Murali', shared a pic of himself holding his baby as his wife is seen flashing a smile. "Thrilled to announce the arrival of our little bundle of joy, HOPE ELIZABETH BASIL! She has already stolen our hearts and we are over the moon with love for our precious daughter. We can't wait to watch her grow and learn from her every day," he tweeted. Mollywood star hero Dulquer Salmaan is among those who took to social media to congratulate the couple.

It was in the year 2015 that Basil debuted as a director with the film 'Kunjiramayanam'. Two years later, he made 'Godha'. As an actor, he is known for the comedy drama 'Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey'.
