Director Abrid Shine's 2016 directorial 'Action Hero Biju' was a commercial hit and also won praises from the audience and critics alike. Nivin Played the lead role in the realistic cop tale, that had Anu Emmanuel in the female lead. The movie introduced a lot of fresh faces to Malayalam Cinema. 

Mary and Baby were the two of the characters who got the audience's attention in the film along with Nivin. Though the characters had lesser screen time, the duo has etched on the memories of the audience. In fact, the characters are popularly used by the troll/meme creators. 

In a recent interview with Kaumudy channel, Abrid Shine revealed how the ladies were roped in for the characters. "When I did an audition, I got a thought that there are a lot of people who want to become junior artiste. Though we conduct auditions for specific age groups, people like them (Baby and Mary) turn up for the casting call. They stand in long ques till dawn to show their talent. It doesn't matter whether they see their faces in the movie or not. They have good patience," said Abrid Shine.

"I thought some of those people would have the spark. Sometimes there will be interesting performers. That’s how we auditioned Mary and Baby and were chosen. They were friends in the movie and they became great friends after the movie too,” Abrid Shine concluded.
