Pakistan's external affairs ministry has opened up on the status of release of Indian Airforce Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who is currently held captive by the nation as a prisoner of war. The ministry has said that the decision will be taken in a couple of days.

There have been numerous demands worldwide to release Varthaman, who had been arrested yesterday by Pakistan after the attacks that happened, as his jet was shot down by Pakistan army. India has made a request on the release of Abhinandan, through the Pakistan ambassador for India, and is following the administrative procedures for getting Abhinandan back to India.

Pakistan external affairs ministry has made an announcement that the decision on releasing Abhinandan will be taken in one or two days. Pakistan media reports also indicate that the Pakistan external affairs minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had promised to send back Abinandan after the tense situations prevailing between India and Pakistan end.
