Aayirathil Oruvan is a 2010 adventure film written and directed by Selvaraghava. The film features Karthi, Andrea, Rema sen and PArthiban in lead roles. Though the film did not do well at the box office, the film was celebrated by Kollywood fans after few years.

While many fans wanted a second part of the film to be made Director Selvaraghavan released the first look poster of the film and stated that the film will be released in 2024. He also made his collaboration with his brother Dhanush official through his tweet.

Recently Selvaraghavan reacted to an article that stated that the film is sleeve due to financial outcomings. The article also added that AO2 is a big-budget film and the makers have already spent crores on research and pre-production. Now, the team is a bit sceptical about continuing with the project as they feel it might go way over budget.

Reacting to it Selvaraghavan posted a tweet that reads " ???? With all due respect can u tell us when the mysterious preproduction happen? And who is the mysterious producer? Pls kindly check your sources!" Selvaraghavan is all set to make his acting debut through the film 'Saani Kaayidham' alongside Keerthy Suresh. He is also roped in to play a prominent role in Thalapathy Vijay's Beast.
