Senior actor, director and scriptwriter Sreenivasan- a product of film institute, had been instrumental in presenting himself in offbeat roles in regular intervals, which demanded the proved talents of the actor.

Last year we had him in `Thakarachenda' in which Sreenivasan fared better than his recent hilarious, commercial attempts. And for this year we will have an `Aatmakatha' where Sreenivasan will be playing Kochu Baby a visually challenged person with a positive attitude. Scripted and directed by debutante Premlal, the movie is said to offer its lead actors a good chance to be in roles of a life-time.

The protagonist of the movie Kochu baby is a candle maker, residing in a hillside village. Though he lost his eyesight when he was 13 years old, his mother has equipped him with necessary courage to face life with vigour. Kochu baby always makes a meticulous planning and knows the exact distance to the places of his routines, which helped him to live an ordinary life. He finds his life partner in Mary who also comes to work at the candle making unit.

`Aatmakatha' thus details the life of a man, who found simple ways to live in a difficult world. The movie will feature Sharbani Mukerjeee, who was recently seen in `Sufi Paranja Katha' as Mary while Jagathy Sreekumar appears as a priest in the movie.

Told to be made with a lot of sincerity, the movie was scripted by the director following the inspiration that he got after reading about a man who refused to succumb to the disability in vision. `Aatmakatha' is cinematographed by Sameer Haq while the songs and music for the movie are set by Alphonse with the lyrics of Kaithapram and Engandiyoor Chandrasekharan.

Premlal had earlier directed many short films and docu fictions before attempting this inspirational story about a blind pair. Produced by Santhosh Pavithram and Shafeer Sait under the banner of Pavithram Creations, `Aatmakatha' will get into theaters in a matter of few weeks.
