What is it all about

Supran Verma tries to push the horror vehicle of bollywood further in `Aatma' by getting into the psyche but without much devices of compelling drama and required horror kicks as ordered by the previous brothers of this genre like Vikram Bhatt, RGV and co.

The lead actors Bipasha and Nawaz seems to be `possessed' with their acting skills for the required goods but alas the maker `possession' for this unconvincing plot spelling doom for the audience.

The Story

Writer Supran tells the story of a mother Maya (Bipasha Basu) who must fight to keep her daughter Nia (Doyle Dhawan) safe from the ghost of her father played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

What to look out for

Supran is able to create the right atmosphere by using those camera techniques which gives the initial feel. The death of the boy, the killing of the psychiatrist starts pretty well but its beyond imagination why Supran chooses to ignore those real happening by showing us just the camera grills. Sound is appropriate. Bipasha, Nawaz and the girl Doyen give their heart into this film as actors.

What Not

Supran Verma is guilty of making Aatma a spoil sport. It's like calling for dinner serving the starters and at the time of main course asks you to admire those starters while running completely out of stock for the main thrill. makes a desperate attempt to make a kill in the end with this unimpressive wind up of events turning into major disappointment for all.

Conclusion: Aatma is a promise to thrill gone wrong due to a feeble script and lack of required eerie moments.. the presence of the beautiful Bipasha and the talented Nawaj only adds to the major waste and disappointment though they act well but couldn't save the film.
