'Anniyan' producer sends shocking notice against director Shankar

Director Shankar known for his films with high budgets and visual splendor on Wednesday announced that he is remaking his psychological thriller 'Anniyan' (2005) in Hindi with Ranveer Singh playing the lead role played by Vikram in the original. The project is bankrolled by Jayanthilal Gada under the banner PEN Media.
Aascar Films Pvt Ltd, head Ravichandran the producer of 'Anniyan' has sent a notice to Shankar stating that he is the sole owner of the rights of the film and that the Hindi remake cannot go ahead without his permission.
In the strongly-worded notice, Ravichandran has pointed out that Shankar was in stress after the failure of his movie 'Boys' and that he had given him a chance to recover from it by signing him for 'Anniyan' and regain lost ground. He has also added that he had paid writer Sujatha for the story and hence it belongs to him now and has advised the ace director to stop all proceedings of the remake and that a legal notice will follow soon.
Already Lyca Productions has gone for an appeal to stop Shankar from directing any new movie without completing their 'Indian 2'and now this notice by Aascar Films has caused a huge sensation in Kollywood circles.
