Actor Somasundaram who is from the 'Koothupattarai' background is one of the highly talented artists in the recent times. His role as a impoverished drunkard in 2011 cult classic 'Aaranyakandam' and as an acting teacher in 2013 super hit film 'Jigarthanda' has now fetched him an opportunity to share screen space with the legend Kamal Haasan.

In his blog post detailing his stay in Hyderabad for the first schedule of 'Thoongavanam' shoot, Suga has made a passing reference that actor Somasundaram took part in the shooting. He has also shared a photograph in which he poses along side Somasundaram and Kishore, another talented actor who is included in the supporting cast of 'Thoongavanam'.

'Thoongavanam' also has highly acclaimed actors Prakash Raj, Asha Sharath, Sampath and, Uma Riyaz in its star cast.
