'Aarakshan' escapes Censors, now how about audience?

In the times when Censor Board willingly passes a song like 'DK Bose' (Delhi Belly) but raises an objection on a live-in relationship (Pyaar Ka Punchnama), one wondered whether filmmaker Prakash Jha would actually have his way with the body once 'Aarakshan' would be presented to them for a screen certificate. After all the film boasts of a theme as volatile as 'reservation' and for someone who has had his fair share of encounters with the Censor Board, Jha can well be expected to be a little wary of the prospects of 'Aarakshan'.
However there is good news for him and the audience as 'Aarakshan' has been cleared by Censor Board and has received a U/A Certificate without a single cut. With a first big step being taken in the right direction, it is now time for Jha to encounter a bigger challenge i.e. a varied audience, all of whom can be expected to have a point of view on the issue.
Now used to such run-ins with the Board, especially after making other hard hitting films like 'Gangaajal' and 'Apaharan', Jha claims that he isn't overtly worried about how audience would react to the Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpai starrer.
"This is a democratic country and everyone has rights to express their views. I will tell what I wanted to through 'Aarakshan'. If anyone has any questions, he is welcome to put forth his view. I would be happy to answer them all," says Jha who is now looking at changing gears for the film's promotion as the film gets ready for release on 12th August.
