Aandavan

Director duo Akbar Jose started with many promises, but as their first two films didn't worked out as expected in the box office, they decided to part ways. One of them is seriously behind a project in Bollywood while the other is planning another Malayalam movie. Aandavan is a film that they started when they were happily together, but couldn't get completed for a couple of reasons. Now the film was completed with a session of shoot last month and is poised to be in theatres by the mid of November.

Aandavan tells the story of a youth who has aspirations of becoming a police officer, but ended up becoming a thief, due to some special circumstances. And he is not any ordinary thief at that. He is a specialist who only steals from the house and the establishments of Kavungal Sivasankara Panicker, the local tycoon.  Panicker's own son who is the Circle Inspector of Police couldn't resist the protagonist thief from continuing with his follies in his father's house.  Aandavan, who is brainy than the local police is able to work his way around and execute the most daring and ingenuous of heists.

Female Sub-Inspector of Police Sreelekha (Sindhu Menon) who is put in charge of the investigations takes up residence on the ground floor of Aandavan's house, unaware that her landlord is the criminal she is after. Aandavan on the other hand becomes aware of her mission.

But on the course of events the female sub inspector falls in love with the culprit whom she is after to book and her life is changed.  As the film evolves Sreelekha understands Aandavan and his reasons behind area of specialization and his targeting of Sivasankara Panicker.

Aandavan whose story line makes you feel like that of Meesa Madhavan is narrated in a different way altogether. The scripts by Rajesh Jayaraaman provide considerable scope for Kalabhavan Mani to display his talent.  Jagathy plays the role of Sivasankara Panicker.  Anand appears in the role of his son, the Circle Inspector of Police.

Vipin Mohan after a long time handles the camera for this film. Aandavan has got a few good songs penned by Kaithapram and Bappu Veliparambu and put to music by Alex Paul.
